Experiment of the Month!
Ancient DNA reveals the first known Neanderthal family. A team including Nobel Prize winner, Svante Paabo, extracted DNA from the bones and teeth of 13 remains that lived in the Siberian caves about 54,000 years ago. With careful analysis, the team found the DNA of a father, teenage daughter and other relatives. Something to note is that Neanderthals mysteriously disappeared, and it is unknown why.
